A student cannot pass a class if they have more than 10 absences. Any absence over 10 must be recovered. Please keep the following in mind:
Students can only go for English (going to another teacher will not count).

Late and Missing Work
Work not turned in will result in a zero.
Work turned in one day late will result in a 10% reduction of grade after assessment.
Work turned in two days late will result in a 20% reduction of grade after assessment.
Work turned in three days or later will result in a 50% reduction of grade after assessment.
All late work must be submitted prior to the first quarterly exam (midterm or final).
By appointment, tutoring will be offered each morning and on select afternoons. Priority will be given to those who have difficulty applying concepts studied in class. A twenty-four hour notice must be given in advance of a desired tutoring session to ensure the highest quality of individual instruction.
Rules and Expectations
To promote the most successful and accommodating academic environment, the classroom will be governed using the policies outlined in the Student’s Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and the standards procedures specific created for Ardrey Kell High School.
Ardrey Kell expects the highest standard of consistent performance and attendance from all of its students. Materials, methods, and expectations will be instituted to meet the needs of each student in addition to assessments, traditional and contemporary, designed to evaluate each student’s journey toward mastery.
